Short and Sweet
Me and my buddy Rusty had a couple hours to blow earlier this week so we loaded up the kayaks and headed to an old school spot that we hear has been real good as of late. We launch around 6:00pm and head out looking for some redfish, not long after we get out i get blown up on top water so hard it sent my lure flying through the air. Shortly after sunset rusty hook's a real nice snook, did'nt fight very hard but turned out to be 34" long and fat, no red's but the snook was worth the trip, good to see we have some left

chasing tarpon
Went out this morning to chase some tarpon around, a bit unsure about the weather I stayed inshore for a while and fished some docks. I decided around 8am to go check the gulf out and see how rough it was, to my surprise it was as flat as glass. I went out of new pass and headed north just to the other side of the sand bar, no sooner I got there I tossed a crab out the front of the boat and fish on. I hooked fought landed and released a 80lb tarpon, which is no big deal, but i was by myself so it made it a bit harder. I revived him next to the boat for a few minutes and let him swim away. I ran back in to where i hooked him and shut the boat off, no sooner did i do that and I saw another school of fish right in front of the boat. I rigged a crab up and tossed it out, BAM fish on again, he jumped twice and spit the hook. Not to bad for a morning I had considered staying home due to the weather (LOL) glad i went out

Bummer
This is not the kind of weather you want for tarpon fishing.

Wednesday Night
Got out on the water this eve with a buddy to chase some tarpon around. Just after we got to our spot, my buddy's shifter cable in his boat broke. So, rather than deal with it at night we both decided to head back to the ramp.
